Biological testing detects, counts or identifies living organisms and their genetic material. 1,132 accredited labs in 36 countries have biological testing in their scope. Most of them are in Germany, Italy and United States. The most common standards in these scopes are EN ISO 7899-2, EN ISO 9308-1 and EN ISO 6222.
Typical tests: microbiology, colony counts, Legionella, E. coli, sterility, disinfectant efficacy and PCR. Tests on patient samples belong to clinical testing, even when they use the same technique.
